The history of Louth Wind Orchestra

The Louth Wind Orchestra was established by professional trombonist David Pearce, and the very first rehearsal was held on Thursday 12th September, 2019. David had the idea of setting up a wind orchestra for over a year, but was initially concerned that there wouldn't be sufficient interest. He needn't have worried, because the first rehearsal saw over twenty people walk through the door!

Based in Louth, Lincolnshire, the band has gone from strength to strength, and not long after its formation, the band were booked to fulfil several public engagements with positive success and feedback.

The founder of the orchestra, David Pearce, is also the current musical director. The band currently stands at approximately 57 members who range in age, with our youngest member being only ten years old! New members are always warmly welcomed, and we encourage you to make contact with us should you be interested.

The band play a wide variety of music, ranging from traditional wind orchestra music, to musicals, pop, swing, jazz and even rock! There's something to satisfy everyone's musical taste.
